~ Community Supported Agriculture
2008 marks the debut of the Stoney Beach Farm Community Supported Agriculture project (or CSA). CSAs offer unique opportunities for farmers and members alike. The farmer is able to offset the high costs of planting and preparation in the spring. It also guarantees that less of his/her produce may go to waste. The member is guaranteed fresh high quality produce throughout the CSA production season. Members also have the opportunity to meet with other members of the community interested in high quality food and helping maintain a thriving local economy.
Stoney Beach Farm's CSA will run 15 weeks from late spring to early fall. The cost per share is $450 for the 15 week period. Work shares are available for $400 in exchange for 10 hours of work throughout the season. Work days will be determined in advance. Pick up days are to be determined based on members' preferences.
For more information or to apply for a CSA membership call the farm at 231-922-8191.
